Artist for July & August: April Simpson

Getting down to the basics in life:  The Beauty that Surrounds Us and the Cowboy Way of Life!    

A devoted Christian woman, April Simpson gives the credit to God and encouragement from her cowboy husband, Rick Simpson, for going forward with promoting her photography, "A. Simpson Photography".  April says, " I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to capture God's amazing creations through the eye of a lens."

Her favorite subjects are wildlife and nature, but April does not limit herself to just those subjects.  She loves to snap and capture notable or simple happenings and subjects that can be shared with others.  Those "special moments..." can then be "forever remembered..," she says.

The Simpsons live in Glencoe and grow their own herbs, fruits and vegetables and maintain 
irrigated pasture for their livestock.

April helps out with her husband's outfitting business, S-S Outfitters, by creating and maintaining
its website, business cards and brochures and by being the business secretary/purchasing agent.

Enjoying her involvement in so many activities and enterprises , April comments, "it's about doing 
what you love.  The mountains call me."

She is simply thankful for the "...opportunities God has given us. We have opportunities to do things
people dream about doing.  For us, well, we live them. It's an awesome adventure!"

The Capitan Public Library is fortunate to have April Simpson's photographs to share with the public during this time of year with all the Capitan events and rodeos occurring throughout the summer.
