Holiday schedule for the Library and N2SS

So all the volunteers can enjoy the holidays with their families, the Library will be CLOSED Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, December 24-26.  We will be open Saturday, December 27, 10am to 2pm.  For New Year's, the Library will be closed: Wednesday, December 31 & Thursday, January 1, 2015.

Not 2 Shabby Shop will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, December 24-27.
  BUT....the days before Christmas, N2SS WILL be OPEN Monday & Tuesday,  December 22 & 23, -  with a BLOW OUT SALE to get all those last minute Christmas gifts!

Thursday, December 4, @ 10:30 a.m. Book Club members bring a list of recommended books that might make good gifts. Give your list to Joyce Davies as you come in, and she will make copies for the group.  Nadette volunteered to bring refreshments for the meeting.

LIBRARY GO BOND ISSUE "B" will bring 10.8 MIL for NM Libraries!
3 mil for Public Libraries
3.5 mil forSchool Libraries
3.5 mil for Academic Libraries
$800,000 for Tribal Libraries 
Impact to taxpayer:  State sources estimate that the annual cost to voters for GO Bond "B" is $0.65 per $100,000 of the assessed valued of your home.

Be sure to vote November 4, 2014.

Below are the projected Bond Distribution for each library type. The academic, public and tribal library estimates should be relatively accurate. The school districts are a mathematical guess based on the past distribution model.

Capitan Library Book Club meeting November 6 @10:00 a.m.

The book club meets the first Thursday of every month at 10:00 a.m. at the library.  On November 6, they will be discussing Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver.  Everyone is welcome to come to the library and join in the discussion.

December meeting is devoted to working on books for gifts for Christmas.

Attorneys Give Free Legal Help in Lincoln County on Oct. 18

A free legal fair will be held in Ruidoso from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the Ruidoso Community Center, 501 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso.  State Bar of N.M. Attorneys will be available to provide free consultations on a first-come, first serve basis on a variety of civil legal topics.

 Local author, historian and retired educator, Lynda Sanchez, introduces her latest book, Apache Legends and Lore.  Sanchez will discuss how she obtained the information for her latest book about the People who live at the base of the Sacred Mountain, Sierra Blanca.  Part of the repertoire for the program will be show and tell items depicting this unique history.

Come join us for an enlightening evening and learn more about our local history.   October 3 at 7 p.m.

Free legal workshop at Ruidoso Community Center on October 8

There will be a free legal workshop and clinic on Estate Planning/Long-Term Medicaid Planning on Wednesday, October 8 at the Community Center in Ruidoso for persons 55 and older.  The workshop  covering Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, Estate Planning and Long-Term Care Medicaid Planning is at 10:00 to 11:15 am.  One-on-one consultations will be available 12:30 to 3 p.m. You must schedule an appointment in advance for a consultation at 1-800-876-6657 or 575-257-4565. 
This service is presented by the Legal Resources for the Ederly Program & the State Bar of N.M.  Ruidoso Community Center is located at 501 Sudderth Drive.
