New artwork at the library
For a limited time (until June 20th) Art Loop Studio Tour is giving the public a sample preview of the art to be seen on the tour. Come by the library to see eleven artists work. The Art Loop runs July 5 - 7 in Lincoln County. This year is the 24th annual tour

forward sharing a sample of their work at this preshow -- it allows the
public to see the quality of artwork that will be available on the
tour.

Capitan Library Plant & Garden Sale
May the Forth be with you! This year the Capitan Public Library Plant and
Garden Sale happens Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. AND it happens
the same weekend as Smokey Bear’s 75th birthday at Smokey Bear Days
(May 3 and 4). These are two “don't miss events” in Capitan!
An assortment of spectacular bedding plants, flowers, shrubs, seeds, and
vegetable plants for the food garden and yard beautification are available
at the library plant sale. Just thinking of Spring and outdoor planting
makes a person antsy to get hands dirty and to enjoy the beautiful days.
Also available at the library sale is: house plants, cacti, succulents, yard
tools, yard art, furniture, jewelry, art, Spring home decorations, plus
oodles of other goodies, including books at $5 for bag-of-books.
Don't forget Mother's Day when making purchases. This is a perfect
opportunity for to find that special and unique item or plant for Mom while
helping out the library.
Homemade bake goods are also available on May4. Bake goods include
pies, scones, cookies, candy, quick breads, and other delights made by the
volunteers of the library. Be sure to come early for the best selection and to
buy plenty.
The Not 2 Shabby Shop opens early Saturday, May 4 at 8 am to coincide
with the library plant sale.
The Capitan Public Library is primarily run by volunteers. Friends of the Library
put on the Plant & Garden Sale as one of the library's main fund raisers.
The library depends on the Plant Sale, the Holiday Bazaar, public donations
and the Not 2 Shabby Shop to bring in the operating funds for the library.
The library is here for the public, but your help is needed for the library to be
here for you.

May 3 & 4 Dali Ballet dance recital
Dali Ballet Company presents its annual spring recital “Elements of Dance” on Friday, May 3 at 7PM and on Saturday, May 4 at 2PM and 7PM at the Ruidoso Schools Performing Arts Center, 125 Warrior Drive. Tickets are $10 per person. Advance ticket sales begin April 8 at Dali Ballet Company, 143 El Paso Road, 575-257-3753. Tickets can also be purchased at the door prior to each performance. "Elements of Dance" involves all of the over 65 students from Dali Ballet Company ranging in age from 3 to 18, said Deborah Rogers, Artistic Director of Dali Ballet Company.
