Presbyterian Medical Group will provide free flu shots to those 18 and older at three locations in Ruidoso, Carrizozo and Capitan until the vaccine is gone.
The opportunities for immunization are:
· from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Friday, October 23, at the Carrizozo Health Center, 710 Avenue E, in Carrizozo; and
· from 10 am to noon at the Capitan Medical Clinic, 405 Lincoln Way, in Capitan.
The
2015-2016 flu vaccine will protect against four strains of seasonal
flu, the Influenza A H3N2-type virus, the Influenza A H1N1-type virus
and two Influenza B-type viruses.
For
their safety, children cannot receive flu shots through these clinics.
Contact your child's primary care provider to receive a properly dosed
flu shot. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends
that everyone six months and older receive the flu vaccine.
