College math class offered in Carrizozo

ENMU-Ruidoso to Offer Math Class in Carrizozo

Preparatory Algebra, a four-credit college class, will be given in Carrizozo this
 spring semester.

The class will be taught by John Hemphill and will take place Monday evenings
from 6:00 to 9:30 pm  in Carrizozo schools classroom 407.

Spring semester begins January 19 and ends May 15.

The last day to register is January 21. Tuition depends on residency.

While the course material may seem daunting, the impetus to holding an algebra class in Carrizozo is to allow students contemplating college to experience representative content and what a course load in addition to working entails.

A previous class taught by Hemphill resulted in a high success rate; one that it is hoped will be repeated this semester.

There are no math prerequisites, but students should be prepared to dedicate the time and effort necessary both in and outside of the classroom in order to pass this course.

First-time, degree-seeking college students will need to make an appointment with an advisor at the 709 Mechem campus location in Ruidoso.

 Returning students may register online.
For more information, please call ENMU-Ruidoso at 575 257-2120.
