Santa Fe opera in C'zozo Saturday, April 21

The Santa Fe Opera is Coming

to a a town near you!

Free Public Concerts of Trinity, an original, one-act opera featuring young artists from the Opera's Apprentice Program for Singers.
Trinity is set in southern New Mexico in the present day and during World War II and is presented this spring in association with Doctor Atomic, one of the five operas featured in the 2018 festival season.
Our story begins at Trinity Test Site, New Mexico, present-day. A teenage boy, Atom, is placed into a room where an older woman, Tessa, already sits. She strikes up a conversation with him and we are transported to the past when Tessa was also a teenager. It is during WWII and Prisoners of War (POWs) have been relocated to New Mexico. During the course of their time together they make a connection and we are reminded of music's power to provide solace when hope appears gone.
Admission is free for this 45 minute performance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance.
Music:  John Kennedy
Libretto:  Andrea Fellows Walters
Stage Director:  Kathleen Clawson
