Linda Hand - May/June artist at the Library

Linda Hand
Watercolors and Mixed Media
As a native New Mexican, Linda’s love of art started at an early age when her aunt and mother encouraged her to start painting.
After that she took art lessons from local artists and in school.
Through the years Linda has tried several different mediums,
but her true love is watercolor. Mixed media has caught her
attention recently, especially with the use of found objects such
as old window frames. Much of the inspiration for her work comes
from scenes around the state. Her obsession in the last few years
with donkeys and burros comes from a donkey named Jose.
He belonged to Linda’s brother, and she was drawn to his character.
She feels they are such unique animals it makes painting them really
fun. I feel painting is personal, yet something to be shared. Linda says,
“It is always insightful to see and hear others’ reactions to her work.”
